Our story
We got tired of ingredient lists that needed a chemistry degree.
LUMÉ started as a spreadsheet of every skincare claim we couldn't verify. Four years later, it's a lab — one that still writes labels a stranger could read out loud and understand.

What we won't compromise on
Three rules, no exceptions.
Plain-language labels
Every ingredient list on our site is written twice: once in INCI, once in a sentence a dermatologist would actually say out loud.
Clinically dosed, always
If an active is on the front of the bottle, it's dosed at the percentage the studies used — not a trace amount for the marketing.
Tested on real routines
Every formula spends twelve weeks in a panel of real bathroom cabinets before it ships, layered with the products people actually already own.

How we got here
Four years, one obsession.
2021
Started in a rented lab bench, reformulating one cream cleanser eleven times.
2022
Shipped the first four-step routine to 200 early-access members.
2023
Rebuilt every label after a reader couldn't tell what 'niacinamide' does.
2025
Nine categories, thirty-two formulas, zero ingredients we can't explain.
Where it's made
Small batches, tested in daylight.
Every formula is mixed in batches small enough that a single chemist can taste, test, and sign off on the texture before it ships — no shade you haven't personally seen swatched in natural light.
