SPF reapplication, without ruining your makeup

The realistic version of 'reapply every two hours.'

The advice to reapply sunscreen every two hours is correct and almost nobody with makeup on actually does it — because most reapplication methods do ruin a full face.

A pressed mineral powder SPF, tapped on over makeup with a sponge, is the most realistic reapplication method for anyone wearing a base. It sets rather than smears.

A setting mist with SPF is a reasonable second layer of protection but shouldn't be your only reapplication method — the SPF concentration in most mists is too low to count as a full second coat on its own.

For no-makeup days, reapplication is simple: milky or gel sunscreens layer cleanly over themselves without pilling, so a fresh coat takes ten seconds.
